Scrapping4funchallenges

The challenge #9 at Scrapping 4funchallenges involved colours.
We had to choose one colour that started with the same letter as our first name (JADE) then we were able to add one other colour (Green).
Here is my entry
I'm happy because I could use up some more things from my January Counterfeit Kit

Dynamic duos card site

The 2 colours this week are black and melon pink.

Despite having an umbrella shape, I decided to use these chipboard balloons because I wanted to use the words inside them.
The pink down the left hand side is glittery washi tape.
Here's my card

Unscripted Sketches #240

Sketch240

Anyway, This is a paper tole picture I cut out and layered. Then I tied embroidery cotton around the pink strip.
The sentiment says "You are the best daughter".

Crazy for Cas. #36

I've made another card. This time for a dutch site, Crazy for Cas #36. Here's the link http://micassucas.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/challenge-36-sketch.html

The sketch looked like this

I've used Kraft card then applied border strips and ricrac.
I used a journaling strip with a rub-on saying "Cherish" plus a heart and a tiny flair button featuring co-ordinating flowers...
The top part where you see an indented line has been cropped off now.

Use a doily at Ruby's Rainbow.

I'm stash busting my Counterfeit Kit now.
This MME sentiment was in my kit.
I thought it would make a lovely Valentines Day card mounted on a doily.
I've added Flourish With A Bling white pearls and used more of the Kikki K paper mentioned previously.

A deep & meaningful layout for Challenge Yourself.

After seeing a one word challenge on http://scrap-challenge-yourself.blogspot.com.au/ I decided to give it a go.
The word I have used for 2014 is Heal.

I lost my Mum in August 2012, and since then have undertaken the mammoth task of clearing 60 years worth of stuff, in preparation to sell the family house.
There has been everything from antique jewellery to broken bricks.
Many decisions have needed to be made and it has been an emotional rollercoaster.

Add into the mix, dealing with serious health issues..my Rheumatoid arthritis, a Breast cancer scare, high blood pressure(still erratic), skin lesions requiring minor surgery etc etc.

It culminated in me sobbing on the floor last Friday night from sheer exhaustion.
The cracks were starting to form.
Luckily, I have several good friends,2 in particular who have listened when I just needed to talk.

I chose this Kaiser paper because it sums up how I've been feeling.

My daughter gave me a 6x6 pad of papers plus card embellishments for Christmas.
I've used some on this layout as a contrast to the background. They represent where I'd like to be.

Now here is the layout
The other word which appears in large letters is boost.
I'm needing boosting up too.(Healing)
There are many positive words on here, plus bright sunshine.
Hope you like it.
It was a soul searching layout.

Color throwdown #276

Here is this weeks palette

The cake crumb colour has me finding some Kraft coloured heavy paper I won a few years ago from Annabelle stamps.
After using a rub-on and a stick on lacy border that says "You make me so happy", I have come up with this card.

Counterfeit Kit blog hop

Well here we are again ready for an exciting blog hop to see how our members have completed their challenges.

Welcome to my part of the CKCB members blog hop

You should have come here from

I've chosen to do challenge #3 as I had already posted for the other 2.

It was to stamp on patterned paper.
I've chosen to use my big bakers stamp which says "hi there"
The patterned paper I used is Amy Tangerine "here and there"
After stamping in black, I highly embossed the area to make it more prominent.
I've added some tiny rosebuds and leaves at the edge to make this card.
Thanks for stopping by and now you should hop over to Annie
The full blog list will be published on CKC Blog so if you get lost hop over there.
Don't forget to leave me a comment so I know you have been here.
In case you get lost, here is the blog hop order.

Lucy Maraca cards,Unstampabelles and Tuesday Taggers

These 2 cards are made for Lucy Maraca from http://red-chichi.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/samples-wanted.html where she has asked us to make sample cards from a range of products that she has sent us.
Lucy Muraca's photo.

Here are my 2 cards.
The first one will be for Unstampabelles as part of my Design Team work.

and

On the second one I used the cuttlebug to emboss the foil.I inked over a flower stencil.
I'm entering this one in http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com.au/ where the challenge is celebrations.

Both could be for engagements or congratulations cards.

Color me scrappy

The sale of my parents' house is looming, so I've been super busy cleaning and removing stuff in preparation for the photos being taken.
It has taken me nearly a week to complete this layout for Color me scrappy.
The criteria is this picture plus they asked for a tribal look.

Although I haven't used real feathers I managed to find a chipboard negative from some Scrapmatts Ferns. I drew through it with black pen and created a cluster of "feathers" in the top corner.

Now here is my layout.
The paper is Kaisercraft Basecoat.
The other scraps of paper are a mixture of Prima, Heidi Swapp, MME, Jillybean soup, even packaging from something.
The alphas are Fancy Pants October 31st. I thought the curly bits resembled smoke tendrils.
The flair button is also Fancy pants.
The rub on is Kaisercraft.
Wood veneer camera and wire camera paperclip, I've forgotten the make.

The story behind it is I stepped off the train one afternoon and started walking towards my car.
As I rounded a corner, there was a massive plume of smoke from bushfires in the Blue Mountains.
It was terrifying!

Another post with Case this sketch.

I've just opened a packet of Kaisercraft Sweet Pea die cut shapes.
I made 2 tags and an early EASTER gift card, which I'm entering in Case this sketch.

The tags will come in handy for layouts. Here is the card separately,

The card is based on this sketch

Stuck on U sketches

This is the most recent SOUS sketch

I've turned it on its side since my photos are portrait not landscape.
Using more of my Counterfeit Kit, including Fancy Pants flair buttons,Amy Tangerine pp and some DCMV chipboard flourishes, here is my interpretation,
The quote in the top left hand corner says "It's the simple things that make the magical moments we remember". We were on our way to Perth Art gallery and walked around the corner and found this book cubby house. The kids loved looking inside it.

Sketchabilities #107 -Patty Pan dress

Around August 2012 I saw this dress on a card site and copied the picture.
It was Unstampabelles and Merry was the creator.
She in turn found this on another site http://stampinonthecamasprairie.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/playing-dress-up.html where the original paper dress looks like this

I had chipboard corsets from MEMORY MAZE. I first inked one with black.
Then I've used 2 coats of embossing to get the black shiny corset.
Next, I've folded the patty pans as the frills on the dress.A thin red ribbon has been tied around the waist.
Next I found this photo of my daughter and boyfriend taken about 5 years ago. She is wearing a similar frilly skirt and corset.I've mounted it on black floral paper then used adhesive doileys to match the pattern on the bottom right corner. There is some layering there to balance the skirt.

Sketchabilities had this sketch
It resembles what I've done, minus the skirt.
I'm entering it in their page.

and here's a close up of my skirt

Wednesday 15 January 2014

Yes it is me again!

This morning I found some papers that I bought ages ago.
I'm using them as an extension kit for Counterfeit Kit challenges.
There is a few Amy Tangerine, some textural Kaisercraft and a layout half done and forgotten about.
Total of 9.
I will try to use up the remaining embellishments from my kit.

Crafting by Design & eeking it out to the end!

It was on a slight tilt in the scanner, but here is a card made from A2Z people chipboard and scraps from my Counterfeit Kit.I'm entering it in Crafting by Design's first challenge ,where it is anything goes.
Last 2 cards for the kit are these

I've used tiny pink FWAB pearls on the bigger card plus a Dear Lizzy Rosette.
The smaller card I used a rub-on on to a sticker tag.

Mojo Monday #328

Here is this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday.

As I'm now nearly out of Counterfeit Kit I'm using up the last bits.
This card managed to suit a few items still in my box.

There is some holey foil, FWAB pearls and MME papers and tag.

Scrap our stash.

Well, for the first time in over 12 months I have actually completely used up my Counterfeit Kit.(except for embellies of course!)

Scrap our stash calls for us to use 5 of something,4 of something,3 of something 2 of something and a rub on.
Here is my layout featuring me having a facial.
Not the most glamorous photos BUT I sure enjoyed it!

I've used 5 patterned papers from the MME Collectable range
4 sticker words on my journaling block to the left of the photo.
3 paperclips(noticeboard, heart and camera)
2 journaling blocks
and a Kaiser rub on that says "Enjoy the little things for one day you'll look back and realise they were the big things".
It is a busy layout but I'm happy with it.

D-Lish mood board and sketch challenge.

Here is the mood board and sketch for D-Lish scraps January challenge.
Oh what a gorgeous palette!

I started with Ruby-Rock-it August Moon paper then misted over a chipboard scroll.
The soft colours called for something grey.....my friend's cat Constance!
Isn't she sweet?

I've used MME Collectable papers and tags.
I used my new Dear Lizzy mason jar stamp(3 times) then cut around the edges and adhered them to the layout.
The D-Lish products I used are the purple & white chevron bottle cap, The aqua flair button and the lilac twine which I wound into a ball to look like the cat has been playing with it.
My friend chose the 3 words that describe her cat...delightful, sweet, crazy.

Color Throwdown #274

Color throwdown has this palette

I've used a MME Indie tag that says "My boy" with a couple of other layered tags from Elle's studio.
I've also used washi tape at both ends of the card.

Case this sketch #59

Here is the sketch

And I've made 2 cards using DCMV chipboard range called Animal Crackers. In there I found some leaves which suited this sketch. Both cards are white.
Those brown marks are on the scanner, not on the card.

With Valentines day coming up these will be useful, I'm sure.

1 2 3 challenge

This is the challenge combo at 123 challenge blog.

I used a Kaiser orange spotted background paper then mixed orange paint on the paper and smoothed it across.
The MEMORY MAZE birds at the top are painted in the same colour.
I matted my photo on neutral scrap pages then used my handmade felt flower as the holder for the feather spray.
Further feather and canvas leaf were added to the RHS of the photo.

My quote is a well known one. The large Doodlebug design letters never seem to be used, however I thought they would work on this quote.
Here is my layout...............very orange!

Merry Monday

The challenge at Merry Monday is to use ribbon.

I had some short pieces from a gift I was sent, so I wrapped them around card which has  Christmas rub ons. There are 2 corner triangles that were hanging about on my desk plus some tiny lettering on my card as well.
Scanner strikes again. The ribbon is straight with no kinks.

A double layout on Mystical using Counterfeit Kit.

For mystical scrapbooking we are asked to do a double layout about our holiday.
On the layout above I stitched a pocket to contain the brochure that we were given and used the tickets on its cover. I misted behind the photos to highlight the blue tones on the layout and photos.

On this one we were mucking around taking selfies before the show started.
I've again misted on the camera paper and put my journaling and title on here.

Put together as a double it looks like this............
